THE BIGGEST SUMMER COMPETITION: LA VUELTA
La Vuelta is a three-week cycling competition at the end of the summer. Its journey varies from year to year and consists of about twenty stages, totalling about 3,000 km. The last stage traditionally ends in Madrid, the capital of Spain. The Tour of Spain is, together with the Tour of Italy and the Tour de France, one of three great professional cycling tours of the cycling season in Europe.
This Sunday 16th of September, once again, Madrid will host the final stage of La Vuelta cycling race, which celebrates its 83rd anniversary and its LXXIIIth edition in 2018. After 21 tiring days, the streets of the capital will have the honor of welcoming the heroes who make up the multicolored snake and delivering the last red jersey to the overall winner.
This year, this edition will be tight between Simon Yatees and Alejandro Valverde, there is only a 20 seconds gap between the two contenders for the title this year.
