Madrid has many amazing places to visit, however most of us need to study in the meantime as well. Luckily, this does not mean that you have to lock yourself up in your room and miss out on Madrid’s beauty and atmosphere. There are many great locations to study and below we listed a few of them for you!
Librería U.N.E.D. de Escuelas Pías
This library is a beautiful location to spend some time studying and working on other assignments. Within 10 minutes you can receive a library card by simply showing your passport. The atmosphere in this library is amazing and truly a sight to see. It contains many lovely couches, several floors, and lots of cubicles. You will find a nice quiet place to study in this library. Most importantly, this library will make you feel as if you are a Hogwarts student getting ready for your OWLs before the quidditch tournament begins.
The Library is located at C/ Tribulete 14, 28012 Madrid and is open on Mondays — Thursdays from 09:00–14:00 and 17:00–19:30 and on Fridays from 09:00–14:00.
Biblioteca Pública Municipal Eugenio Trías
This library is located in El Retiro which makes studying not that boring anymore. If you have visited and walked through El Retiro, you probably already know its beauty and calming atmosphere. This open concept building fits perfectly in El Retiro and offers a great view of the beautiful park while you are studying. The library opened in 2013 and it is located within two large pavilions in the Casa de Fieras, which used to be a zoo within El Retiro Park.An amazing large book collection can be found at the upper level of the building and you can find cubicles, study rooms, and computer rooms at the lower level. So, you will definitely find a great place to concentrate on your work in this library.
The library is located at El Retiro Park, Casa de Fieras de, Paseo Fernán Núñez, 24, 28009 Madrid and is open on Mondays — Fridays from 8:30–21:00, on Saturdays from 09:10–17:50 and on Sundays from 09:10–13:50.
Biblioteca Pública Municipal Ana María Matute
This library is a great location to study as well and not only because of its amazing architectural structure. The library has several floors and comfortable areas for you to spend some time. The ground floor is a perfect place to work on group projects, since it is not completely silent there. There are free computers for you to use and free Wifi! If you want to enjoy a nice view of the city while working, you can go to the upper level which has a quiet area.
The library is located at Calle Cortada, 1, 28019 Madrid and is open on Mondays — Fridays from 08:30–21:00.
MediaLab-Prado Madrid
For those who prefer to study at a different location than a library, the Medialab-Prado is perfect for you. In addition to the amazing experience of experimentation and digital culture, you can definitely spend some time here to study. There are three floors with quiet areas with tables and couches, several nice cafeterias, and the space is equipped with computers for research. It is a great location to study and even if you are not going to study, you should definitely visit it for the experience and activities.
It is located at Calle Alameda 15, 28014 Madrid and is open on Mondays from 16:00–21:00, on Tuesdays — Fridays from 10:00–21:00 and on Saturdays from 11:00–21:00.
La Doña Madrid
For the people who prefer to study in a lively area while enjoying a nice cup of coffee or another refreshment, you should go to La Doña. This lovely cafe that has delicious drinks and pastries is a great location to work on your assignments and study. If you don’t mind some conversation around you and are able to resist buying all the fantastic pastries served, then this is a great place for you.
The cafe is located at Calle de San Bernardo, 57, 28015 Madrid and is open 24/7.
Federal Cafe
Another cafe where you can study well is Cafe Federal. This cafe is very light and open, serves great coffee and other refreshments. You can enjoy a nice view, different types of food and drinks while studying. There is a nice terrace as well, so when the sun shines you can even sit outside while working on assignments and not miss a lovely day in the city. This cafe gives you the opportunity to study while not having to feel locked up.
The cafe is located at Plaza del Conde de Barajas 3, 28005 Madrid and is open on Mondays — Thursdays from 09:00–23:00, on Fridays and Saturdays from 09:00–00:00, and on Sundays from 09:00–20:00.
