If you are a citizen from outside the European Union (EU), have arrived in Spain as a tourist and have not been granted a student visa, you will need to apply for a Study Permit (Permiso de Estancia por Estudios) and TIE. You will need to apply for your visa (study stay) in Spain and then apply for your Foreigner Identification Card (TIE) associated with the visa/study stay (the TIE is only processed for stays of more than 6 months).

If you are a citizen from outside the European Union (EU), have arrived in Spain as a tourist and have not been granted a student visa, you will need to apply for a Study Permit (Permiso de Estancia por Estudios) and TIE. You will need to apply for your visa (study stay) in Spain and then apply for your Foreigner Identification Card (TIE) associated with the visa/study stay (the TIE is only processed for stays of more than 6 months).
The visa can be applied for both for official studies and for research or training activities, participation in student mobility programmes, non-work placements or voluntary services.
With Be International Students’ Study Permit and TIE processing service, we will help you with the documentation, paperwork, appointments and will assist you throughout the entire process.
You must submit your application within 60 days of your arrival in Spain and, in any case, before the last 30 days of your legal stay as a tourist.
Once you have been granted your Study Permit, you must apply for a Foreigner’s Identity Card (TIE) within a maximum of 30 days from the notification of the favourable decision.
The service includes the processing of the visa from Spain, Study Permit (called ‘Permiso de Estancia por Estudios’) + obtaining the TIE (first appointment for fingerprinting) and the appointment to collect the TIE after fingerprinting, in addition to the review of documents and preparation of forms and fees*; it also includes telephonic assistance during the fingerprinting appointment (if there are any problematic cases the accompaniment is in person).

In the Check Out process we will ask you to upload the following documentation:
– Passport: data sheet (the one with the photograph), sheet where the Police have stamped the entry stamp to Spain as a tourist.
– Enrolment form of the study centre (letter of admission).
Throughout the subsequent process, we advance that you will have to provide:
- Health care insurance with no co-payments or deductibles and with repatriation expenses. If you do not have it, take it out here under the most advantageous conditions.
- Proof of availability of financial means (we will indicate amounts, documents and ways to present them).
- Criminal record certificate proving that you have no criminal record in the last 5 years. The document must be apostilled/legalised.
- Medical certificate attesting that the applicant does not suffer from diseases that may have serious public health implications in accordance with the International Health Regulations 2005. The document must be apostilled/legalised.
- All documents must be translated into Spanish and, if necessary, notarised, legalised or apostilled (we will make the relevant observations according to your case).
