Visa at Origin + TIE Processing – If you are a non-EU citizen planning to study in Spain for more than 6 months at an accredited educational institution, you will need to complete both the visa application from your country of origin and the TIE (Foreigner Identity Card) process once in Spain.
Applying for your visa in origin requires submitting the necessary documentation at the Spanish consulate in your country. Then, within the first month after your arrival in Spain, you must apply for the TIE, a requirement for stays longer than six months.
This visa can be requested for official academic studies, research or training activities, participation in student mobility programs, non-work internships, or volunteer services.
With Be International Students’ Visa at Origin + TIE Processing service, we assist you with all the required documentation, forms, appointments, and guidance throughout the entire procedure.
Consulates generally recommend submitting your visa application at least two months before your program starts to allow enough time for processing and travel. Once your visa is approved and you arrive in Spain, you must apply for your TIE within the first 30 days.
What’s included in the service
This service covers the full visa process in your home country, assisted remotely from Spain, including:
- Appointment requests at the Spanish consulate by our legal team (where permitted)
- Full assistance with the TIE process once in Spain: fingerprinting appointment and TIE collection
- Review of documents and completion of required forms
- Preparation and payment of official fees related to the TIE
- Phone support with immigration offices during appointments (in-person support in exceptional cases)
Can’t obtain the visa in your home country?
If you’re unable to secure your visa before traveling, due to denial or unavailability of appointments, don’t worry. You can enter Spain as a tourist and apply for the equivalent student permit here.
This application must be submitted within 30 days of your arrival in Spain and, in any case, before the final 60 days of your legal tourist stay. Also, Spanish regulations require that the permit be requested at least 60 days before your studies begin, so it’s important to plan your trip in advance.
The documents required are the same as those submitted to the consulate, but must be officially translated and legalized/apostilled. In this scenario, an additional €90 fee applies.
We will check and submit your documentation to the immigration office in Spain. Once the permit is granted, we will continue with the TIE process, scheduling your fingerprinting and TIE collection appointments, while reviewing everything to ensure a smooth and successful result.
