Why is an international student community so important?
Joining an international student community is one of the smartest things to do when studying abroad. Why? Because it makes the experience way more fun. Not only that but it is a great way to meet a lot of new people from so many different countries while fully enjoying the culture of the country you’re studying in. Doing things like visiting museums or taking a cooking course can be a challenge when on your own but way easier to do with others. In conclusion there is not one reason why you shouldn’t!
A new scary journey
So, you’re starting this new journey in a different country, which can be very scary especially if you’re on your own. But it definitely doesn’t have to be as scary. Meeting new people you can share your journey with is very important as it helps with not feeling alone. You of course have your roommates, but they can be annoying at times. This is where the International student community can come in handy! Meeting people that go through the same things and you can relate to helps you feel less lost.
What are the offers?
The community makes you feel more connected to the country your in. It organizes meetings and other activities you can participate in to experience the culture. That way you can also be a little bit of a tourist and get to know the country. But also think about trips to nearby cities. You will most likely be here for some time so, you might as well explore the whole country! People that have been in the community for a little longer know what to do and where to go to have the best time. Guidance and support are the two most important things when it comes to a community. Helping others and being able to ask for help. If there is something you’re struggling with there will always be someone there for you and you can be there for others. In conclusion you will be part of something that will take your Erasmus experience to the next level!
